EXCEPTIONAL LAMDA RESULTS FOR PREP

Repton Prep pupils have achieved exceptional results in their most recent round of LAMDA examinations that took place at the end of the Summer Term.

30 pupils across the Prep School were assessed in Performance and Communication examinations with 100% of pupils achieving a Distinction, and over half of candidates receiving over 90%. The recently introduced Musical Theatre discipline to the Prep Schools LAMDA programme, saw an additional five pupils being assessed, again with 100% of pupils passing and gaining either a Merit or Distinction.

Mrs Sekhon set up the LAMDA programme at the Prep School in January 2020 and the very popular extra-curricular activity has been in high demand with pupils. Imogen C (Y6) expresses how being involved in LAMDA has improved her confidence, "I have been taking LAMDA lessons since September 2020 and if there's one thing I know, it is that I have found a great place to express myself. Mrs Sekhon is a very lovely, kind and encouraging teacher and I have learnt so many new things. My favourite pieces are the comedy acting parts, as I get to enjoy the amazing feeling of making people laugh! I hope to carry on doing LAMDA until I leave school, as I have always wanted to perform!"

Head of LAMDA, Mrs Sekhon is immensely proud of the pupils receiving their awards, saying: “This is a fantastic result for the pupils, which is particularly significant, as they started working towards their examinations at the end of the January lockdown. Special congratulations must go to Arthur C (Y8), who was awarded 100% for his performance. LAMDA is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to become confident, resilient and brave in their choices, through a personal journey of self-efficacy and reflection fostering a culture of excellence through joy”.
